About

Born and raised
in Southwest Florida.

I'm Devon — the owner, builder, and the person you'll talk to from start to finish. No sales team, no runaround. When you call Precision, you get me.

I grew up between Fort Myers and Sanibel, started working in construction at 19, and launched Precision at 28. I studied Construction Engineering at FIU on an Army scholarship and brought that discipline and precision into every project I take on.

After Hurricane Ian, I spent months rebuilding SWFL homes — building relationships with homeowners across the coast and dialing in what works and what doesn't when it comes to coastal construction. Every project made me more committed to making my hometown stronger and more resilient for the next storm.

From a small custom project to a full renovation — and everything in between — I treat every job with the same level of care and craftsmanship.

Direct Communication

You work with the builder — not a middleman.

Licensed & Insured

$1M/$3M general liability coverage.

90-Day Warranty

Florida Grown · Locally Connected

Backed by a network
built on lifelong trust.

Growing up in Southwest Florida means my professional relationships run deeper than a business card. The roofers, plumbers, electricians, and pool contractors I work with aren't just subcontractors — they're people I've known for years, long before I started Precision.

That kind of trust can't be built overnight. It means when your project needs a specialist, I'm not searching online — I'm calling someone I'd trust with my own home. And when it comes to buying or selling, I work with the best real estate agents in the area who understand SWFL inside and out.

When you hire Precision, you get access to an entire network of trusted local professionals — all through one point of contact.

The Truth About Your Remodel: You’re Not Just Buying New Cabinets

When most people think “remodel,” they picture new cabinets, fresh tile, maybe a nicer shower. What they’re actually buying is a mix of trust, timing, and long-term quality — and that’s where the gap shows up between a local contractor who lives here and the crews that parachute in, cash out, and vanish.

I grew up in Florida. I work in the same neighborhoods I drive through with my family. When I walk into a home for a “small remodel,” I’m not just there to install one shiny new thing and call it a day. I’m there to see what your house is really telling me and how we can make sure it holds up for the next storm, the next season, and the next owner.

A Remodel Is an Opportunity, Not Just a Project Anytime walls are open, flooring is pulled, or fixtures are coming out, you get a rare look behind the scenes of your own house. That’s when the truth shows up: Soft spots in subfloors that have been hiding under old tile. Rusted fasteners, undersized hardware, and “creative” framing choices behind drywall. Gaps around windows and doors that you’d never see once things are closed up. Old paint, caulk, and sealants that are one good storm away from letting water in. If we’re already there to remodel a bathroom, update a kitchen, or rework a living space, it makes sense to treat that as a whole-home checkup, not just a single-room facelift.

Local Eyes See Florida Problems Florida homes don’t fail the same way houses do in other states. The combination of heat, humidity, salt air, and hurricane-force winds exposes weaknesses differently. When I walk your property, I’m looking at: How wind will move around your house and pool cage during a storm. Where water wants to sit, back up, or sneak in. How your soffit, fascia, and gutters have been aging — not just how they look from the street. Cracks, patches, or “temporary fixes” that have turned into permanent problems. That’s the advantage of hiring someone who actually lives and works here year-round. I’m not guessing what might happen; I’ve watched it happen over and over and then gone back to fix it.

The Out-of-Town Remodel Trap After big storms or during construction booms, our area fills up with companies who smell opportunity. Here’s what that usually looks like in reality: Missed timelines — Jobs that drag on for months because scheduling and communication are a mess. Thin oversight — The person who sold you the job isn’t the one actually walking it, checking details, or catching mistakes. Rushed punch-lists — The final 10% gets glossed over because everyone’s already focused on the next job. Weak warranties — When something fails, you find out how little they really stand behind their work. I’m not interested in playing that game. If I can’t put my name on it and sleep at night, I’m not building it that way.

What “Quality” Actually Means in a Remodel Choosing products and materials that make sense for coastal Florida, not just whatever was on sale at the supplier. Using fasteners, connectors, and hardware that hold up in heat, humidity, and storms. Framing, blocking, and backing things properly so your new finish work isn’t just hanging on by luck. Taking the extra time to seal, prime, and prep surfaces so paint, tile, and trim actually last. You might not see every detail once the remodel is complete, but you’ll feel the difference every time a storm blows through and your home doesn’t flinch.

Turning a “Small Remodel” Into a Whole-Home Checkup We start with your priority — bathroom, kitchen, living room, whatever you called me for. While that area is open, I look at the surrounding systems: framing, electrical runs, plumbing, ventilation, nearby soffit and roofline, and any signs of past water or movement. If I see something that can cause problems later, I tell you straight. No scare tactics — just, “Here’s what I’m seeing, here’s what it means, here’s what it would take to fix it.” From there, we can build a honey-do style list: Things we should fix now while we’re open. Things we can plan for in the next 6–12 months. Things you just keep an eye on. You’re in control. My job is to make sure you’ve got real information and real options, not surprises down the road.

Why This Approach Matters for Southwest Florida Homes Between storms, humidity, salt, and the pace of growth here, our houses take a beating. A remodel is one of the few times someone qualified is looking closely at how your home is actually holding up. If I’m already there with tools, materials, and local subs I trust, it doesn’t make sense to only think about the pretty finishes. It’s the perfect time to tighten up the exterior envelope, address water intrusion risks, fix structural shortcuts before they become structural failures, and make sure the work we’re doing now is something I can stand behind years from today.

If You’re Thinking About a Remodel Whether you’re in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Fort Myers Beach, Naples, Punta Gorda, or Port Charlotte, the question isn’t just “Can I get this room to look nicer?” It’s: “Can we use this remodel to make the whole house stronger?” “Is the person I’m hiring going to be around if I need them in a year?” “Do they treat this like Florida, or just another job on a map?” If you want a remodel that looks good and gives your home a real checkup while we’re at it, reach out through precision-swfl.com. I’ll take a look at what you’re planning, walk the rest of the property while I’m there, and tell you honestly what’s worth doing now, what can wait, and what will actually hold up in this climate.

Hurricane Season Is Coming: Is Your Property Actually Ready?

Hurricane season in Southwest Florida isn’t a surprise — it’s a guarantee. The difference between a minor inconvenience and a major loss usually comes down to preparation, response time, and how well your property is built to handle what’s coming.

As a Florida native, I’ve been around storms my entire life. I’ve seen what they do, and I’ve built my business around responding to them the right way — before and after they hit.

What Most People Get Wrong About Hurricane Prep A lot of homeowners think preparation stops at shutters and sandbags. That’s part of it, but it’s not the full picture. Real preparation means: securing vulnerable exterior systems, reinforcing weak structural points, making sure water has nowhere to get in and nowhere to sit, and having a plan for immediate response after the storm.

Know Who You’re Calling Before the Storm Hits After a storm, the area fills up fast with out-of-town contractors chasing insurance work. They show up after the damage is done, take on what’s easiest, and disappear just as quickly. That’s not how I operate. I’m a local. I grew up here. This is my home, and I take that seriously.

In the days leading up to a storm, I start locking in preparation work and clearing my schedule so I can focus on helping my community get ready. After the storm, I’m out there the next day — clearing debris, helping secure properties, and getting my friends, neighbors, and clients back on their feet.

The First 24-48 Hours Matter Most After a storm passes, time is everything. Water intrusion spreads. Loose materials turn into bigger failures. Small damage becomes expensive damage. Because I’m local, I’m able to mobilize quickly — clear debris, perform initial damage assessments, stabilize properties, and get projects into a repair pipeline immediately.

What I Actually Handle After a Storm Storm damage isn’t just one trade — it’s everything at once. I handle roof damage assessments, exterior structural repairs, doors and windows damaged by wind or debris, pool enclosures and exterior systems, debris clearing and site stabilization, and interior water damage and restoration.

Why Local Experience Matters I’ve worked through storm cleanup and rebuilding here in Southwest Florida, and I understand how these properties fail — and how to fix them properly. That experience translates to faster response, better decision-making under pressure, and stronger, longer-lasting repairs.

Be Ready Before You Need It Hurricane season is coming whether you’re ready or not. If you want to get ahead of it, reach out through precision-swfl.com and I’ll take a look at your property and help you get dialed in before the storms start rolling in.

Homeowner TipMarch 2026

Do You Really Need to Replace Your Damaged Pool Cage After a Storm?

After a storm hits Southwest Florida, one of the first things homeowners hear is that their pool cage needs to be completely replaced. In reality, that’s often not the case.

Most damaged pool enclosures are still structurally salvageable. The problem is, many companies push full replacements because it’s easier and more profitable than doing detailed structural repairs.

When a Pool Cage Actually Needs Full Replacement A full replacement is only necessary when a majority of the structural beams have failed, the enclosure has widespread structural instability, or the overall integrity of the system is compromised beyond repair.

What Most Storm Damage Really Looks Like In most cases, storm damage is more localized: roof or wall sections blown out, failed corner connections, broken cables or hardware, and isolated beam damage. These issues can usually be repaired while strengthening the overall structure.

The Insurance Factor Many policies don’t fully cover pool enclosures — or only cover a portion of replacement costs. In many cases, the funds provided by insurance are more than enough to repair the enclosure properly, reinforce weak points, and even upgrade the system.

Why Repairing Can Be the Better Option A properly executed repair doesn’t just fix the damage — it can improve the cage. Upgrades can include reinforcing structural connections, replacing outdated hardware, upgrading to a picture window design, and re-screening with stronger materials.

How I Approach Storm-Damaged Pool Cages I evaluate each enclosure based on its actual structural condition — not what’s easiest to sell. If the cage can be repaired and strengthened, I’ll recommend that route. If it truly needs replacement, I’ll explain why and walk you through the options.

Don’t Assume Replacement Is Your Only Option If your pool cage was damaged in a storm, the first step is getting an honest assessment. Reach out through precision-swfl.com and I’ll take a look at your enclosure and walk you through your options.
